Statin & Breast Cancer
STATIN & BREAST CANCER
Because heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, causing nearly 700,000 deaths annually, medications which reduce the risk are routinely prescribed. Statins are one of the most prescribed medications because they reduce cholesterol levels which reduce heart attacks. But these medications are not without side-effects i.e. increasing the risk for diabetes mellitus by 50%. A study in 2013 that included thousands of breast cancer patients concluded that, “Long term statin users—women taking statins for ten years or more—had more than double the risk of both major types of breast cancer: invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive lobular carcinoma.” God has a better plan for His children, a vegan diet which contains no cholesterol as outlined in Genesis 1:29. The Adventist Health Study revealed that vegans had the lowest incidence of heart disease among SDA. So why use second rate measures. Just follow God’s plan for the best health.
